Hi, I’m Nathan, welcome to my online portfolio!

I’ve been a musician for the majority of my life, always inclined towards creative endeavors of expression through sound. Over the years I’ve found myself compelled to pursue a career behind the curtain. Formally, I’m a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in audio and music production.

Informally, I love making music and helping others achieve the sounds they’re looking for. In my experience, what you hear is as compelling and important as what you see. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what of a sound?

The Audio and Music Production (AMP) sequence at ISU taught me how to produce exceptional audio deliverables for a variety of content mediums. I functioned as a recording, mixing and mastering engineer and collaborated with other students in professional recording studio settings to produce professional-grade audio deliverables and music. The scope of my studies was focused on audio engineering, audio restoration, live audio systems, sound design, sound and dialogue editing, soundtrack and sound effects engineering, recording, mixing, and mastering engineering.

Since graduating I have recorded, mixed, mastered and released a demo and six-track EP for my band, Miley Cypress Hill, have begun work at WTVP PBS in Peoria, IL, working as a crew member, camera operator and audio engineer, and work for the Arts & Entertainment department of the city of Bloomington, IL in various audio, visual and lighting capacities for public events at venues like the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts and Grossinger Motor Arena.

My education and experience thereafter has provided me with the experience and confidence necessary to succeed in the development and execution of future career endeavors in audio and beyond. My goal is to help you sound like you and for your projects to reflect your vision!
